Arachova is a mountain village on the slopes of Mt. Parnassos, in the prefecture of Boeotia, at an altitude of 1,040 metres. Known for the Parnassos Ski Centre, its traditional tavernas and handmade local products, it is one of the most popular mountain destinations in Greece.
Four seasons of life: in winter it fills with skiers and travellers, while in summer the cool mountain air and the trails of Parnassos attract visitors from across the country. Nearby, Delphi and the Monastery of Hosios Loukas — two of the most important monuments in Greece.
The Parnassos Ski Centre is the largest organised ski resort in Greece, stretching between the two highest peaks of Mt. Parnassos — the Fterolakka and Kelaria areas — at altitudes ranging from 1,600 to 2,250 metres. It draws thousands of visitors and winter-sports enthusiasts every year, and its privileged location at the heart of Greece makes it easily accessible from major cities.
The ski centre lies within the Parnassos National Park, a landscape of unique natural beauty with impressive geological formations, waterfalls, springs and gorges, as well as rich and rare flora and fauna. Beyond the winter season, the area is an ideal destination throughout the rest of the year, offering outstanding opportunities for hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking in an authentic natural environment.
